Well it's official. My half-sister in Maryland is having her first baby, and it's going to be a girl!
After many trys and failures, she is now successfully nearing her third trimester!
I'm a little too far away to just go and visit, and I've already made her an afgahn. So I thought, what about her Thank You cards? I can make those for her!! And so I did.
I'll get them off in the mail to her this week sometime, and I can't wait for her to get them!
Congratulations Mark and Sara! This is such a fun and overwhelming time in life. As anyone who has had a child can attest, it's surreal, and before you know it, you are celebrating a first birthday though it feels like no time at all has passed. My only advise is to relax, enjoy every second. Work together as a team. Pick your battles. It's easy to get frustrated, but remember that this time in your life will never come again. No matter how many more kids you have, this time is unique. As long as you are united as a team, you will do great, and BE great parents.
I love you both! ♥

Active Boy
Here are the other two layouts for Byron. I just love these two layouts. I have used them in my classes before, though everyone is still complaining about the circles some 3 years later. Go figure!
As you can see, I used a lot of scrap pieces, but also what a great way to use little things like stamps! Just a little ink on a sponge to age them a bit, and they are ready to go.
I can't wait to cull through my pictures of Byron and pick and choose the PERFECT shots for these layouts.
I think a few layouts for Edith will be on the board to do next. Maybe use some purples and pinks.. throw in a little yellow and green.. sounds spring-a-licious!!
Ok, I am well on my way to getting caught up. I'll post more later!!

Boys, Noise and Toys
Oh my goodness! Well, I am now back in my scrapbook room and going to town. It is so theraputic for me to be able to create again.
By my count, in order to keep up with one of my resolutions, I need to catch up with 8- 2page layouts. Here is the first of the 8. I honestly don't think I'll have a problem catching up, and I am going to be a posting fool! Now these layouts do not yet have pictures on them, but they are all about Byron!
All of the ink and stamps used are from Close To My Heart. I love our colors and inks. They go so well with everything I have! All of my paper was bought way back when. Finally I am creating and FINISHING instead of just collecting!! I have 2 more layouts that go along with these two, but I need to finish embellishing them before they are ready to post.
I have been asked by several people how I come up with the pages I create.
All I can say is... just look at that face!! How can I NOT be inspired?
Happy Scrappin' ♥

It's scrappin' time!
Oh my goodness! I got to scrap in my room tonight! It was so nice to be able to sit and get my hands into a paperpack and create.
My husband replaced the carpeting in my room last Saturday, and though we still have to finish the transition piece at the doorway, I am moving in! I will post pictures once I get everything unpacked and re-organized. In the meantime, here is a before picture:
and an after picture of the floor:
I have spent most of the week reloading the room and getting the kitchen and livingroom back to where you can not only walk through them, but you can even sit in a chair or on the couch! Crazy, I know! So, I thought I might take the day to have a little fun. These pages I created with the Sophia paperpack from Close to my Heart. I haven't put any pictures on them yet, but they are picture ready! These are the pages my club members will be making next month. Want to join us? Let me know!!
Next week I need to get back into my school work pretty heavily, as I took the week off to deal with the room and the rest of the house. It will be nice getting back into a routine!

Had enough yet?
Now, being a Connecticut girl (or as my husband refers to me, a Yankee) the snow, ice and biting wind really is nothing new. But after being here in Texas for almost 11 years, it seems that I am no longer acclimated to it, and I am about ready to say enough is enough!!
This picture was shared by my friend, Donna Adams, a native Texan. Thank Donna, some of the emails you share just tickle me!!
It's already into February everyone. We can make it a few more weeks, can't we? Stay warm and use common sense out in this wind!

but I thought this was a "SCRAPBOOKING" blog....
I know, right?? When I started this blog, it was going to be about scrapbooking and card making and being crafty and all that neat stuff.
And then life happened.....
But on the up side, my room is almost emptied out, we have the new flooring, and my husband and I are going to be working dilligently this week to get it done!!
This is the new flooring. It really wasn't quite the color I was hoping for, but we got it for a steal!! At 59 cents per square foot, I am quickly learing to LOVE this color!!
Like I said, I have almost gotten the room emptied out. It certainly looks worse than it really is. Unfortunately, in order to finish cleaning this room out, yup, you guessed it, the rest of the house gets piled with everything!!
Right now, I have a really good plan on how the room is going to be laid out once the flooring is done, and I CANNOT WAIT to get in there and get my hands into some paper and adhesive and CREATE again!!
I have a lot of scrapping to do to get back on track with my resolutions, but I will not despair. I will perservere!! I will be going crazy posting layouts once we are done!
One last picture, my sweet husband... working all day, and then put to work at night helping me. In advance, I am thanking you for getting my room back!!
