I am so blessed with my family, no matter how tired I am, or much I sometimes want to give up. In keeping with this revelation, and as a constant reminder to myself, I have decided to take a look back at my history, or at least as far back as I can get information. I am starting with the few things I know, and the few pictures/momentos that I have, or can easily get my hands on.
Every post this month will have a scrapbook page of my family, my history, or some reminder of who I am and where I come from.
My first post is of a two-page layout of my great grandmother. Her name was Mary, but everyone called her Mae, and she died a year before I was born. I never had the chance to hear her speak, hold her hand or hug her neck. Even so, I feel closer to her than to almost anyone in my family. The things that we still have of hers are treasures that each family member holds onto with an iron fist, not wanting to let anything go. By making these pages, I am in a small way sharing her not only with other family members, but with the world.
I hope you enjoy her as much as I do.
